Lagoonrun: Kayak Race

Six kayaks, one turquoise lagoon, and a finish line under the mangroves.

Slide your thumb to steer, hold SPRINT on the straights and paddle past five rivals on twisting emerald channels seen from above, between lime-green mangrove canopies, thatched huts and sandy shallows. Finish in the top three to open the next race.

The water is alive, and it pays to read it:

• Roots and driftwood slow you down: steer around them
• Sprint is fast but heavy to turn, and it runs out of breath: use it on straights
• Orange buoys give a burst of speed: weave through them
• Slipstream behind another kayak and let its wake pull you along
• Sandbars are slow: go around
